Open Position: Accounting Specialist

Knowledge & Proficiency:

- Must possess fundamental knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts, preferably with
experience in banking or financial services as well as some understanding of banking operations and regulations.
- Fundamental PC skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Should have a detail oriented and analytical mindset.
Must be a critical, independent thinker capable of multitasking and prioritizing.
- Understand and be able to communicate using terminology germane to accounting.

Job Functions:
Payroll and Benefits:
- Ensure that payroll is timely and accurately processed, reconciled, and posted.
- Coordinate benefits enrollments and payroll deductions, including reviewing
vendor invoices for accurate billing and enrollment according to employee election records.

Shareholder Accounting:
- Maintain shareholder records and develop proficiency in the shareholder accounting / reporting system.
- Assist in payment and reconciliation of dividends.
Receive and respond to shareholder inquiries.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other
financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:- Assist in the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with banking regulations and relevant
accounting standards and industry best practices.
- Audit Support: Interact with internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting procedures and systems, implementing changes
to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including finance, operations, and compliance, to facilitate
cross-functional teamwork and achieve organizational objectives.
- Customer Service: Provide support and assistance to internal stakeholders, including bank staff and management, addressing inquiries, and resolving
issues related to accounting and financial matters.

Complete all bank assigned training in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned.
